TEQUITY PRIVACY POLICY
EFFECTIVE DATE: SEPTEMBER 7, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Tequity Labs Incorporated ("Tequity," "we," "us," or "our") handles personal information when you use the Tequity mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Tequity is currently intended for users in the United States.
1. SCOPE AND KEY PRINCIPLES
This Policy applies to personal information Tequity collects through the Service, communications with us, subscription administration, and the third-party services we use to operate Tequity.
Tequity does not sell personal information. We use Firebase Analytics and related usage information for Tequity's internal product analytics, operations, security, and improvement purposes. We do not sell that analytics information to advertisers.
When you choose to make a project visible to potential co-founders, the information you designate as visible may be viewed by other Tequity account holders. Information you send in direct messages is disclosed to the recipients you choose.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account and authentication information. Tequity supports sign-in through Google and Apple. Depending on the provider and the permissions you grant, we may receive identifiers and account information such as your name, email address, provider-specific user identifier, and authentication information necessary to create and maintain your Tequity account. Authentication-related technical data may also be processed by Firebase Authentication and the applicable sign-in provider.
Profile information. We collect information you choose to include in your Tequity profile, such as your display name, profile details, experience, roles, interests, project affiliation, and other information supported by current or future profile fields.
Project and execution information. We collect content you create or save in Tequity, which may include project names and descriptions, project visibility choices, milestones, launch-plan items, check-ins, progress information, founder or collaborator information, applications or pursuits, and similar startup execution data.
Messages and inbox information. We collect the content of messages sent through Tequity, conversation metadata, participants, timestamps, and read or delivery-related information necessary to provide messaging and maintain recipient conversation history.
Subscription and transaction information. If you purchase a paid subscription, Stripe processes the payment. Tequity may receive and store information such as a Stripe customer identifier, subscription status, plan, billing state, transaction identifiers, dates, and other payment-related metadata needed to provide and administer your subscription. Payment credentials are processed by Stripe; Tequity generally does not receive full card numbers or card security codes.
Usage and interaction information. We collect information about how the Service is used, including screen or feature views, feature interactions, project and workflow events, subscription or paywall events, timestamps, session information, and similar product-usage events. This data helps us understand adoption, engagement, reliability, and product performance.
Device, diagnostic, and crash information. Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may process device and app information such as app version, operating system and device characteristics, Firebase installation identifiers, session identifiers, crash traces, diagnostic events, timestamps, and related technical information needed for analytics and crash diagnosis.
Communications with Tequity. If you contact us, respond to an email, request support, report content, or otherwise communicate with Tequity, we collect the information contained in that communication and the information needed to respond.
Marketing information. If you subscribe to marketing communications or otherwise provide information for promotional communications, we may use your email address and related communication preferences to send Tequity news, product updates, launch information, or offers.
3. HOW WE COLLECT INFORMATION
We collect information directly from you when you create or edit content, complete your profile, send messages, subscribe, contact us, or otherwise use interactive features.
We receive certain information from service providers, including Google or Apple when you sign in, Stripe when you subscribe or manage billing, and Firebase when analytics or diagnostic events are generated.
Some technical and usage information is collected automatically through software development kits, logs, identifiers, and similar technologies used to operate, secure, analyze, and troubleshoot the Service.
4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We use personal information to:
A. Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure Tequity accounts.
B. Provide profiles, projects, milestones, launch plans, check-ins, discovery, messaging, subscriptions, and other Service features.
C. Apply your project-visibility choices and display visible project information to other Tequity account holders.
D. Deliver messages and preserve recipient conversation history.
E. Process, administer, and support paid subscriptions through Stripe.
F. Understand how users navigate and use Tequity and measure product adoption, engagement, conversion, and feature performance.
G. Diagnose crashes, bugs, failures, abuse, and security issues.
H. Improve, maintain, test, and develop the Service.
I. Send service, security, account, subscription, and policy communications.
J. Send marketing communications where permitted and allow you to opt out of promotional email.
K. Enforce our Terms & Conditions, protect users and Tequity, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with applicable law.
L. Support a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction as described below.
5. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
Other Tequity users. If you make a project visible, other Tequity account holders may view the information included in that visible project. If you message another user, the recipient receives the message content and information reasonably necessary to identify and maintain the conversation. Your choices to disclose information to other users carry the confidentiality and intellectual property risks described in the Terms & Conditions.
Stripe. If you subscribe, we share or transmit information needed to create and administer the payment and subscription relationship with Stripe. Stripe processes payment credentials, transaction information, fraud-prevention information, and related data under its own terms and privacy practices. Apple Pay or Google Pay may be available as payment methods within the Stripe payment flow.
Google/Firebase. We use Firebase services, including Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics, and may use Firebase Authentication in connection with account access. Google processes analytics, diagnostic, installation, authentication, and related technical data as a service provider or under the applicable Google/Firebase terms. Tequity uses the analytics and diagnostic output for internal operations, security, product analysis, and improvement.
Google and Apple sign-in. If you use Google or Apple to sign in, the provider processes your authentication request and shares the account information authorized by you or required for sign-in. Your relationship with the provider is also governed by its own privacy terms.
MongoDB and operational service providers. Profile, project, messaging, and other application data may be stored in MongoDB. We may also use hosting, infrastructure, monitoring, communications, security, and technical service providers that process information on our behalf as necessary to operate Tequity.
Legal and safety disclosures. We may disclose information if we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, court order, or valid legal process; is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Tequity, our users, or others; or is necessary to detect or respond to fraud, security incidents, abuse, or violations of our Terms.
Corporate transactions. Information may be disclosed or transferred as part of due diligence or a merger, financing, reorganization, acquisition, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar transaction involving all or part of Tequity. Any recipient will be subject to applicable law and the commitments that continue to apply to the data.
We may also share information at your direction or with your consent.
6. NO SALE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Tequity does not sell personal information. We do not receive money from third parties in exchange for personal information about Tequity users.
Our use of Stripe, Firebase, authentication providers, database providers, and other service providers is for payment processing, account access, analytics, reliability, security, infrastructure, and operation of the Service rather than the sale of user data.
If our practices materially change in a manner that constitutes a sale or other regulated sharing under applicable U.S. state privacy law, we will update this Policy and provide any legally required choices before engaging in that practice.
7. PAYMENTS AND STRIPE
Paid Tequity subscriptions are processed by Stripe. When you enter payment information, that information is provided to Stripe and, where selected, may also be processed through Apple Pay or Google Pay as a payment method.
Tequity receives information necessary to determine whether your subscription is active, canceled, past due, or otherwise requires account-level action.
When you delete your Tequity account, Tequity will remove the Stripe customer relationship or customer record from the Tequity-controlled customer pool to the extent available through our Stripe integration.
Stripe is an independent payment processor and may retain transaction, identity, fraud-prevention, tax, compliance, or other records for periods required or permitted by law and its own policies. Tequity does not control those independent Stripe retention obligations.
8. DATA STORAGE, RETENTION, AND ACCOUNT DELETION
Active Tequity account data. When you complete account deletion through Tequity, we delete the Tequity account and the profile, project, execution, and other account data under Tequity's direct control from the active application database without an intentional waiting period, except for information specifically described below as retained or controlled by another provider.
Messages sent to other users. Messages you have already sent to another Tequity user are retained as part of the recipient's conversation history and are not deleted when you delete your account. This allows the recipient to retain the communications they received. Deleting your account therefore does not retract or erase copies of messages already delivered to other users.
Firebase analytics and diagnostics. Analytics, crash, installation, and diagnostic records processed through Firebase may be retained by Google for limited periods according to the configuration of the services and Google/Firebase retention practices. Some information may also exist in aggregated or de-identified analytics that is not maintained as an active Tequity profile record.
Stripe. Stripe may retain payment and transaction information independently as described in Section 7.
Information other users copied or exported. Account deletion cannot remove information that another user independently copied, screenshotted, exported, or otherwise retained outside Tequity after you chose to disclose it.
Tequity will provide an in-app account deletion method. Tequity also intends to maintain a web-accessible method for users who no longer have access to the app to request account deletion. Privacy or deletion questions may be sent to [info@gettequity.com](mailto:info@gettequity.com).
9. SECURITY
Tequity uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
These measures may include authenticated access controls, encrypted network transmission, provider security controls, restricted operational access, and monitoring for failures or abuse.
No method of storage, transmission, or authentication is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for maintaining control of the Google or Apple account used to access Tequity and for promptly reporting suspected account compromise.
10. YOUR PRIVACY CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Profile and project choices. You can choose what information to place in your profile and projects and whether to use project visibility features, subject to fields required for core functionality.
Marketing email. You may opt out of promotional email using the unsubscribe method included in the message. We may continue to send service, security, legal, account, and subscription communications that are not promotional.
Account deletion. You may use Tequity's account deletion functionality or the web-accessible deletion method we make available. If you need assistance, contact [info@gettequity.com](mailto:info@gettequity.com).
U.S. state privacy rights. Depending on where you live and whether a particular state privacy law applies to Tequity, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about certain personal information, and to appeal certain privacy-request decisions.
Tequity will honor rights required by applicable law. To submit a privacy request, contact [info@gettequity.com](mailto:info@gettequity.com). We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.
11. MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS
Tequity may send promotional emails about product updates, founder resources, launches, offers, or other Tequity news.
You can unsubscribe from promotional communications at any time using the unsubscribe control in the email.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent operational communications needed to administer your account, subscription, security, or legal notices.
12. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Tequity is a general-audience service and is not specifically directed to children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13 in a manner that would require parental consent under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act without obtaining the consent required by law.
If we learn that we collected such information in violation of applicable law, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
A parent or guardian with a concern may contact [info@gettequity.com](mailto:info@gettequity.com).
13. UNITED STATES SERVICE AND DATA PROCESSING
Tequity is currently intended for users in the United States.
Tequity and its service providers may process information on servers located in the United States and, depending on a provider's infrastructure, in other locations where that provider operates.
By using Tequity, you understand that service providers may process information according to their infrastructure and applicable contractual safeguards.
14. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
Tequity may contain links to or integrations with third-party services.
This Policy does not govern information you provide directly to another user outside Tequity or to a third-party website, wallet, authentication provider, payment processor, or other service operating under its own privacy policy.
15. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as Tequity evolves, our providers or data practices change, or legal requirements change.
We will post the updated Policy and revise the effective date.
When a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent when required by applicable law.
